Gaia has strengthened its energy team by hiring a new expert on sustainable energy. As the risks on the global energy market are growing and the market is getting more complex, Gaia will continue to offer clients profound understanding on energy issues.
Gaia’s new energy expert Katariina Simola brings the company her extensive experience of working with energy issues around the world. She has worked on the energy sector for over 30 years, mainly in strategic and business positions in large international companies, and has also been involved in large investments and reorganising companies.
“My specialty is running new power plant projects to the point of an investment decision – to see what needs to be taken into account to please all stakeholders,” says Simola.
Expertise will continue to be in high demand in the future, as the risks on the global energy market grow. It is vital to secure an adequate supply of energy and to ensure that energy production meets energy demand. Energy issues can also be prone to increasing political risks. All this will put policy-makers, investors and energy companies to test.
“Energy markets are getting more complex. There is increasing need for demand-side management and new capacity to store energy. We want to be able to offer careful analysis on energy regulation, energy investment climate as well as different technology options,” says Juha Vanhanen, Managing Directorof Gaia.
