The government of Peru takes concrete action towards Green Economy. On April 18th the first steps were taken in an international summit on innovation and eco-efficiency.

The summit in Lima, Peru was about strengthening the competitive edge of Peruvian industry by promoting best practices and the concept of eco-industrial parks. Gaia made a keynote presentation on eco-innovation and international best practices on cleantech cluster and eco-parks.

“Energy and resource efficiency will shape the competitive advantage of a nation and its industry in view of limited national capacities and overexploitation. Eco-innovation links fundamentals of cost management and performance with generation of new products and business models“, says Alain Schilli, Managing Partner of Gaia.

The multi-stakeholder summit attracted 250 decision makers from industry, national and regional governments, investors and facilitators.

Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) organized the summit with the support of Seco, UNIDO and CPC Peru. Swiss government funds CPC Peru (Cleaner Production Center) to highlight the importance of eco-efficiency.
